The Current Business : Brief description of the service provided

In december 2005 the ENGUIAS won the 1st.New Energy Auction organized by ANNEL- The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency and each ENGUIA has signed 27 Energy Purchase and Sale Contracts in the Regulated Market (CCEAR) by availability.

The supply should start in early 2008 for a 15 - year term.

According to the CCEARs by availability all the ENGUIAS 12 T.P.Ps shall observe the ready to go status being prepared to generate and dispatch energy waiting for a dispatch call from the ONS - Operador Nacional do Sistema Elétrico or from an electric power distribution concessionaire .The ENGUIAS will receive a fixed income in order to meet their fixed costs and a variable income when generating and dispatching energy in order to meet the fuel cost and O&M variable.
