The Company:Enguia Gen BA,CE and PI - Brief History

The Enguia Gen.BA(Bahia),CE(Ceará) and PI(Piauí) Ltda , or simply - Enguias , initially had been implemented to take care of entailed contracts to the Governmental Program of Emergencial Energy and had entered in operation in 2002.

The Enguias currently operates 12 Thermoelectric Power Plants (T.P.P.) with installed total capacity of 249 MW using 154 Caterpillar diesel generator sets.The 12 T.P.P. had been implanted in 120 days only.

All the contracts related to the Governmental Program of Emergencial Energy had been fully performed and had finished in 31/12/2004.

During the contracts development term the 154 Caterpillar diesel generator sets worked about 200 hours (at most) and still brand new considering their useful life of 30.000 hours.

In december 2005 the Enguias won the 1st. New Energy Auction organized by ANEEL-The Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency and each Enguia had signed 27 Energy Purchase and Sale Contracts in the Regulated Market (CCEAR) by availability.

The supply should start in early 2008 for a 15-year term.
